As a child, Dylan Dubois had always enjoyed her mother’s magical tales of adventure and faraway places.  But when a tragic fire claims her father’s life and lands her little sister in a coma, she wonders whether there might have been more to her late mother’s stories, after all.

Plagued by recurring nightmares, Dylan struggles to cope with her sister’s deteriorating condition, and with a number of perplexing discoveries she makes regarding her mother’s past.  An ancient book she finds hidden amongst her mother’s belongings offers a clue, and a final avenue to her sister’s salvation.  The cryptic symbols within hint at a legacy that has been passed down through her family for generations. One which might be capable of unimaginable healing.

Unable to solve the riddle alone, Dylan enlists the help of a handsome stranger, whose past also seems shrouded in secrets.  Kit (as he calls himself) has a quick wit, sly smile and knowledge beyond his years.  Though he may be her only hope at unraveling the mystery surrounding her family, Kit’s habit of disappearing whenever it suits him also leaves Dylan in doubt of his motives.

With her sister’s life hanging in the balance, Dylan and Kit must race to solve the puzzle of the ancient text, in order to unlock the power within, and save her sister before it’s too late.
